I think Betsy Ross made the American flag.

Betsy had her own sewing shop and she could make anything  she wanted. Betsy also would make flags in the shop. She would make paintings showing the flag before congress approved. Betsy had the idea of scattering stars on a blue field on the flag. George W told Betsy that she was right for the job. He said that Betsy had clean stars and really nice lines. Robert M said that he would get a sheet from the sea chest to show how to sew the flag. Soon later the flag is finished. The new flag committee carried the Betsy Ross flag into congress.
